Spinal orthotics for adults

There are several types of orthosis for degenerative problems, their purpose is the same. They differ in appearance (aesthetics), height, material and strength. Various orthoses are available on the market (in pharmacies and in specialized stores), from soft (straps) to hard rigid ones, but it is necessary to know that the sellers are not properly trained to be able to give successful advice.

The orthosis should only be installed (manufactured) by a qualified orthotics and prosthetics graduate who has sufficient experience and special knowledge. The type of orthosis is decided by the doctor in cooperation with the team, which must be experienced. The team, or rather the doctor, decides on which type of orthosis and how high it will be, based on several factors:

• age of the patient
• level of problems-changes in the spine
• acceptance of a certain type of orthosis.
